Free-diving to about 15 meters, I found the male and female whales, suspended closely side-by-side in the water, gently caressing each other, and I made images dive after dive. As I headed upwards at one point, I realized the whales were slowly following. The male ascended from directly below me, and I began to think I was going to end up on his back. To my delight, at the last moment he turned, the female just beyond him, and gave me an eye to eye look from just a meter away...
